Official Rules for the Recruit for Rewards Promotion

No Purchase Necessary. A Purchase Will Not Increase Your Chances of Winning.

  • Eligibility: The Promotion is open only current members of the American Dental Association (“ADA”) who are in good standing. The following people are not eligible to enter, however: (a) ADA officers or trustees; (b) members on the Council on Membership; (b) the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and household members of those officer, trustees, or members.
  • Entry Period: The Promotion begins on January 1, 2024 and ends on August 31, 2024 (the “Entry Period”). Entries received before or after the Entry Period will not be eligible.
  • How to Enter:
    • Periodic Drawings: You will receive one (1) entry into the Periodic Drawings for every application for active full dues paying membership (including postdoctoral students and residents but excluding predoctoral students and retired and international members) that ADA receives during the Entry Period from a new degreed dentist (i.e., not an ADA member in 2023) in which you are listed as the referring individual.
    • Grand Prize Drawing: For every five (5) entries you receive for the Periodic Drawings, you will also receive one (1) entry into the Grand Prize Drawing.
    • For all Entries:By entering, you indicate your full agreement to these Official Rules and ADA’s decisions regarding the Sweepstakes, which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements in these Official Rules.
  • Drawings:
    • Periodic Drawings: On or about the following dates, ADA will select one (1) potential winner in a random drawing of all entries received by the drawing date: April 1, 2024; July 1, 2024; and September 3, 2024. Entries that are not selected in one Periodic Drawing will be included in subsequent Periodic Drawings. The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received.
    • Grand Prize Drawings: On or about October 17, 2024, ADA will select one (1) potential winner in a random drawing of all entries received for the Grand Prize Drawing. One (1) additional Grand Prize will be awarded for each 1,000 referrals over the first 999 (1,000-1,999 referrals = one additional Grand Prize winner selected; 2,000-2,999 referrals = 2 Grand Prize winners selected, etc.). The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received.
  • Potential Winner Requirements: Except where prohibited, a potential winner may be required to complete and return a declaration of eligibility and liability/publicity release. If a potential winner fails to sign and return these documents within the required time period – or if a potential winner is no longer an ADA member in good standing at the time of the drawing – an alternate potential winner may be selected in his/her place in a random drawing of all remaining entries received. Only three (3) alternate potential winners may be contacted.
  • Prizes:
    • Periodic Prizes: Each winner of a Periodic Drawing will receive his/her choice of: (i) a prize package from the ADA store (the “ADA Prize Package”) with an Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of $1,000; (ii) products valued up to $1,000 from ADABEI-endorsed providers; or (iii) a check for $500. The ADA Prize Package includes: (i) CDT 2025 and Coding Companion Kit with App (available starting in June 2024 – the Q1 winner can still select prize option and it will be shipped to them once available); (ii)ADA Guide to OSHA Compliance for Dental Offices (S69622BT); (iii) The ADA Practical Guide to Creating and Updating an Employee Policy Manual (J670BT); (iv) The ADA Practical Guide to OSHA Training: Guidance for Dental Team (P88922BT); (v) Dental Communication: Letters, Templates and Forms (J05320BT); (vi)The ADA Practical Guide to HIPAA Compliance (J594BT); (vii) The ADA Practical Guide to HIPAA Training (J596BT); (viii) The Chairside Instructor, Twelfth Edition (W01321BT); (ix) Your Smile: An Owner’s Manual (50 brochures); and (x) Your Child’s Teeth (50 brochures).
    • Grand Prize: One (1) Grand Prize winner will receive his/her choice of: (i) round trip airfare for two (2) from winner’s location to Hawaii and a 7 day Hawaiian interisland cruise for two (2) (with an ARV of $7,500); (ii) up to $7,500 to apply to another trip for two (2) from the AHI Travel catalog; or (iii) a check for $3,500. Any trip must be taken before December 31, 2025.
    • Super Recruiter Prize: Any member who earns at least 25 entries into the Periodic Drawings will receive the prize package from the ADA store with an ARV of $1,000 as described in Section 6(a).
    • For all Prizes: A winner is responsible for paying any applicable income taxes and any and all other costs and expenses not listed above. Any prize details not specified above will be determined by ADA, in its sole discretion. A prize may not be transferred prior to award and must be accepted as awarded. A winner may choose from between the periodic prize alternatives and the Grand Prize alternatives disclosed in these Rules, but may not otherwise substitute prizes; however, ADA reserves the right to substitute a prize with another prize of equal or greater value if the advertised prize is not available for any reason, as determined by ADA, in its sole discretion. There is a limit of one (1) Periodic Prize and one (1) Grand Prize per person.
  • General Conditions: In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Promotion is impaired in any way, ADA may, in its sole discretion, either: (a) suspend the Promotion to address the impairment and then resume the Promotion; or (b) award the prizes at random from among the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment. ADA reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify and seek damages from any individual who tampers with the operation of the Promotion, violates these Official Rules, or acts in a disruptive or unsportsmanlike manner. ADA’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. Proof of sending any communication to ADA by mail shall not be deemed proof of receipt of that communication. The Promotion is subject to federal, state, and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited.
  • Release and Limitations of Liability: By entering, you agree to release and hold harmless ADA, its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, and advertising and Promotion agencies, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Promotion or receipt or use of any prize, including, but not limited to: (a) errors in the administration of the Promotion or the processing of entries; (b) technical errors that impact the Promotion; (c) printing errors; (d) lost, late, postage-due, misdirected, or undeliverable mail; or (e) injury or damage to persons or property. You further agree that in any cause of action, in no event shall the Released Parties be liable for attorneys’ fees or other legal costs. You waive the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages.
  • Disputes: Except where prohibited, you agree that any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the Promotion or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in Cook County, Illinois. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, your rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Sponsor in connection with the Promotion, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Illinois, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of Illinois or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than Illinois.
  • Winners: To request a list of winners, send a request to r4r@ada.org and include an email address where the list of winners should be sent. Requests must be received within thirty (30) days of the end of the Entry Period.
