Common membership questions:

What’s the difference between the ADA Office of Student Affairs and the American Student Dental Association (ASDA)?

The ADA and ASDA are two different organizations that work together to support you.

Here at the ADA, the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) advocates and supports dental students and faculty. The OSA provides credible solutions to help the dental school journey and the transition from dental school to life as a dentist. ASDA is an independent student-run association that protects and advances the rights, interests and welfare of student pursuing careers in dentistry.

How do I join the ADA and when does my membership expire?

As a student, in order to join the ADA, you must be a member of ASDA. Once you're a member of ASDA, you will automatically receive ADA student membership and full benefits. Both the ADA and ASDA are calendar-year memberships that expire December 31. Visit ASDAnet.org to join.

What do I do if I am missing ADA Benefits, like JADA?

If you are not receiving your ADA benefits, like JADA, the ADA may not have your mailing address. Contact the Member Service Center at msc@ada.org to update your information. Don’t forget to update your email address!
