FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CHICAGO, August 21, 2024 — The American Dental Association (ADA) is pleased to announce Mr. Robert (Rob) Zinn’s promotion to Vice President of Accounting. In his new role, Zinn will oversee all financial reporting and accounting functions. As a key advisor to senior management and volunteer leadership, he will report on financial results, provide due diligence on business opportunities, and contribute to strategic planning.

“Rob is an excellent financial steward of the Association,” said Raymond Cohlmia, D.D.S., Executive Director of the ADA. “His leadership and principles will continue to dutifully serve the financial health of the organization on its trajectory of growth and innovation.”

In his previous ADA role as the Director of Accounting and Reporting, Zinn successfully led all accounting operations. He also supported the Budget & Finance Committee and the Audit Committee, and held consultant roles with the ADA's subsidiaries. Zinn began his career at the ADA as Senior Manager of Financial Reporting in 2011.

“Working at the ADA has truly been a life-changing experience, and I could not have accomplished all I have done without the Association’s amazing finance and accounting team,” said Zinn. “I look forward to supporting the ADA's transformation as a world-class Association for members.”

Before joining the ADA, Zinn was the Director of Finance at Erie Family Healthcare and served as Internal Audit Manager at Rush University Medical Center. His career has also included management and financial consulting roles with Smart Associates, RSM, and Robert Half after beginning as a senior auditor in public accounting at Whitlock, Selim and Keehn LLC.

Zinn earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Economics from Drury University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Association Forum.

About the ADA Forsyth Institute

The ADA Forsyth Institute was founded in 1910 as the Forsyth Dental Infirmary for Children (later, the Forsyth Institute), to provide dental care to the disadvantaged children of Boston. While continuing to serve children in need, yet recognizing the ultimate goal is to prevent dental disease, the Institute in 1915 began to focus on scientific research and is today the world’s leader in oral health research. In October of 2023, the Institute joined with the American Dental Association to form the ADA Forsyth Institute, a 501(c)(3) entity dedicated to improving people’s oral and overall health and powering the profession of dentistry through cutting-edge basic research, creative translational science, innovative clinical technologies, and global public health outreach. Consistent with the Institute’s founding mission, the ADA ForsythKids mobile dental program continues to serve children in need.
