Dr. Hana Alberti named Vice President of Dental Practice

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CHICAGO, January 21, 2025 — The American Dental Association (ADA) is pleased to announce the promotion of Hana Alberti, D.D.S. to Vice President of Dental Practice. In her new role, Dr. Alberti will lead the development of a strategic vision to create engaging, comprehensive Continuing Education content for the entire dental team, addressing critical aspects of workforce development and delivering quality patient care. She will continue to oversee the Council on Dental Practice and the Dental Quality Alliance.

“World-class continuing education offerings are vital to enhancing the day-to-day practice of dentistry and improving patients’ lives,” said Raymond Cohlmia, D.D.S., Executive Director of the ADA. “Hana’s strategic vision focuses on the evolution of practice, with courses that fortify the profession and fuel deep curiosity for lifelong learning.”

In her previous ADA role as Senior Director of the Center for Dental Practice Policy, Dr. Alberti provided operational oversight and leadership to the Council on Dental Practice, offering the dental practice perspective to determine the impact of federal regulations and practice-related policies. She also represented the ADA in numerous capacities, including teaching practice management courses at Temple University, speaking at the Association for Dental Safety, and collaborating with external standards organizations to advocate for the practice of dentistry.

Before joining the ADA, Dr. Alberti balanced her time as a clinician, clinical director and educator. She provided strategic leadership to Wisconsin’s largest dental group, implementing a caries risk registry, overseeing peer reviews and new dentist orientation, supporting accreditation processes, and designing continuing education programs.

“Having been a clinician and a patient, I have a great appreciation for oral health care’s impact on well-being,” said Dr. Alberti. “By way of delivering quality continuing education for the entire dental team and responding to the need for a healthy, well-distributed and skilled workforce, the ADA has entrusted me to strengthen the dental practice of today and the future.”

Dr. Alberti is a Marquette University School of Dentistry graduate and holds a bachelor’s degree in microbiology and immunology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is also an alumna of the ADA’s Institute for Diversity in Leadership.
