Greensboro Dentist Elected ADA Trustee

CHICAGO, October 27, 2008—Charles H. Norman, D.D.S., who practices general dentistry in Greensboro, NC, was installed as a trustee of the American Dental Association (ADA). Dr. Norman’s installation took place in San Antonio at the ADA's 149th Annual Session, October 16-21.

Dr. Norman will serve on the ADA Board as the trustee from the 16th District (representing Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.) The ADA Board formulates and reviews policies and programs and makes recommendations to the members of the ADA's governing body, the House of Delegates. As a member of the Board, Dr. Norman will play a major role in the ADA's organizational objective of being America’s leading advocate for oral health.

Dr. Norman is a past president of the North Carolina Dental Association, served as chair of the ADA Council on Dental Practice, the Well Being Committee and the Dental Practice Indicators Committee. He was also a member of the ADA Committee to Study Alternative Pathways for Dental Hygiene Training. Dr. Norman served as a Delegate to the ADA House for 14 years.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry, Dr. Norman is a past president of the Foundation Board for the UNC School of Dentistry.

Dr. Norman and his wife, Sharon, are the parents of Matthew and Emily Norman. Matthew Norman is a second year dental student at the UNC School of Dentistry.
