Immediately following a disaster, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will make cash grants of up to $26,000 per individual or household for lodging expenses, rent, home repair or renovation, and other disaster-related needs.

In the wake of a hurricane, flood, earthquake, wildfire, tornado or other physical disaster, most of the Federal government's longer-term disaster assistance comes in the form of low-interest loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Small Business Development Centers Network
The SBA’s network of small business development centers (SBDCs) provide free and confidential business counseling services to help small businesses succeed.
