Briefly describe your practice.
Public health clinic for low income and medicaid patients aged 2–18. Emergency care for Primary Health Care patients who qualify as low income adult patients. Routine care for residents of Douglas County Hospital.

What is the most interesting thing that has happened or you’ve done as a dental professional?
Participating in short term dental mission trips to Honduras four times during dental school.

Why did you choose dentistry as a profession?
As a dentist I can be a part of the healthcare field and also enjoy my work schedule.

What's the most difficult challenge you've faced in your practice?
Being unable to care for all oral health care needs due to the nature of the primary health care program which only serve emergency care. It is also frustrating being limited by my lack of ability to speak Spanish and other languages when trying to communicate with my non-English speaking patients.

Name one unique thing on a wall in your clinic or displayed in your waiting room.
There is a mural from the 70s portraying children's television show characters from that era, some of which the children do not recognize today. There are Sesame Street characters like Big Bird, Bert, Ernie, Cookie Monster and also others like Popeye, Olive Oil, Sweet Pea, Dr. Seuss characters, and Curious George.

What is/was the most challenging aspect of dental school?
Time management was challenging especially when seeing patients and taking classes.

What would you be doing if you weren’t a dentist?
I always ask my friends, "If you could do anything regardless of talent, money, or distance, what would you do?" My answer to my question is I would be a singer/musician in a touring band. I love to sing and enjoy playing guitar.

Name/describe your favorite CE course taken in the past two years.
I haven't taken any CE yet, as I just graduated in May.

What do you do to relax?
I enjoy reading. I also enjoy spending time with friends dining out, going to movies, and dancing.

What is the most daring thing you’ve done in your lifetime?
I'm not very daring, but I did do some cliff jumping into a waterfall in Honduras once.

What are you most proud of?
I am proud of the achievements that my fellow classmates and I have achieved and keep on achieving.

What is the last book you've read or are currently reading?
I am currently reading The Lovely Bones. It is about a teenage girl who was sexually molested and murdered in the 1970s. The book is a fictional story of how she watches over her family, friends, and the man who murdered her in the after life.

How do you deal with stress?
I try to exercise regularly and get massages twice a month.

Where is your favorite vacation spot or activity?
I recently went to Italy on vacation. Venice was very romantic and beautiful.

What are your hobbies?
Reading, playing guitar. I am actually trying to think of something to take up...

Who is your favorite singer or musical group?
Currently it would be a group from Spain called El Sueno de Morfeo. They are a celtic pop group that sings a happy song called "Para Todo la Vida." It just makes you smile to hear.

What do you do for exercise?
I walk/jog on an outdoor trail, do exercise DVDs, and play tennis.

Name one thing you have in your home from your childhood.
I have all of my baby photos. As the youngest of 4 kids, there aren't that many.

Whom do you admire?
I admire my grandma for her gracious nature.

My siblings

Any words of advice?
I have a lot to learn before I can give advice. I guess I would say, always be ethical and treat your patients like your family members.
