Briefly describe your practice.
I have a family practice with an emphasis on cosmetic result dentistry and implant restorations.

you?

What is the most interesting thing that has happened or you’ve done as a dental professional?
I have had the pleasure of working for a time as a dentist with my father and now my son has joined my professional life as a dentist in my practice.

Why did you choose dentistry as a profession?
My father was the most loving and honest man in the world and truly a leader by example. He practiced dentistry for 57 years and was respected and loved by people all around us. We shared a common outlook on life and as such were attracted to the same things and had many similar interests.
What's the most difficult challenge you've faced in your practice?
Raising a family which included a daughter with a disability and still keeping up with my ongoing dental education and practice development.
Name one unique thing on a wall in your clinic or displayed in your waiting room.
A beautiful oil of an English rose garden. My office is in a professional building attached to a townhouse development named English Rows, developed by my husband.
What is/was the most challenging aspect of dental school?
The challenging aspect for me was balancing family and school. I went through dental school with two children who were just starting first and second grades.
What would you be doing if you weren’t a dentist?
I can't imagine not being a dentist.
Name/describe your favorite CE course taken in the past two years.
I love studying occlusion, but hearing Carl Misch on implant treatment planning was great.
What do you do to relax?
I play with my grandchildren or travel to Ireland.
What are you most proud of?
I am most proud of my family. My sons and daughter are products of years of solid family life and devotion. My husband and I are having the time of our lives as grandparents of 6 (almost 7) little ones under 6 years of age.
What is the last book you've read or are currently reading?
Anam Cara by John Donoghue.
How do you deal with stress?
I just sit still in the moment and enjoy what is all around me. It also helps me to go over in my mind what I am grateful for in my life.
Where is your favorite vacation spot or activity?
I really love going to Ireland and cultivating friendships with cousins and just enjoying the simplicity of the countryside.
What are your hobbies?
I garden for flowers and vegetables and am taking violin lessons.
Who is your favorite singer or musical group?
I still love the Beatles.
What do you do for exercise?
I bought a pedometer am working on getting in 3 to 5 miles of walking per day.
Name one thing you have in your home from your childhood.
I have a china cabinet and 2 chairs from my grandmother's dining room.

The Departed
Name your favorite movie.
Mrs. Doubtfire really made me laugh.
Whom do you admire?
I admire Oprah and an Irish nun, Sr. Cyril, who works with educating poor girls in Calcutta.
Who has most influenced your life?
My parents.
What musical instrument do you play?
The violin.
What's your favorite Web search engine?
Google
What concerns you about the future?
I am concerned about the morality of the next generation. People seems to be afraid of calling things right and wrong.
Any words of advice?
Thank God you are living in the United States and have the possibility of "following your bliss." We must always remember to be of service to others.
