Three states join NERB
Silver Spring, Md.—Kentucky, Mississippi and New Mexico have joined the North East Regional Board of Dental Examiners Inc., the NERB Board of Directors announced in January.
The additions were unanimously approved during the NERB annual meeting. The new member states, along with recent additions Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon and Wisconsin, result in a total membership of 22 jurisdictions.
NERB member states guide the organization in the development and administration of competency assessments for the oral health professions. NERB currently administers the American Board of Dental Examiners (ADEX) examination—which is accepted for licensure in 41 jurisdictions—for initial licensure of dentists and dental hygienists.
NERB also develops and administers exams on nitrous oxide utilization and administration; injectable local anesthesia; jurisprudence, ethics and risk management; and state specialty examinations.
