Greenville, N.C.—Apple has named the East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine an Apple Distinguished Program for the 2012-13 school year.

The school garnered the award for its integration of technology to increase student learning. A key part of that is ECU's Outcomes Assessment Engine XComP, which enables dental schools to develop competency goals for students before exams and cases and given. ECU receives a plaque and publicity that has already led to a number of U.S. and international educational programs reaching out to the dental school for information-sharing and to arrange future tours.
