ADA Catalog offerings provide continuing education credits
Is there a difference between sterilization and disinfection? Can you name a recent change to HIPAA privacy laws? What is the safety standard for bloodborne pathogens?
These questions are critical to every dental practice. The answers—and continuing education credits—can be obtained through the following ADA Catalog offerings that cover infection control, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration:
- Effective Infection Control: A Training Program for Your Dental Office (P692). Current infection control procedures are reviewed comprehensively in a 60-minute DVD and workbook. The program features simple instructions and self-paced learning. It’s available at $129.95 for ADA members and $195 for nonmembers. Dentists can earn eight continuing education hours.
- The ADA Practical Guide to HIPAA Training (J596). HIPAA compliance is non-negotiable, so keeping abreast of changes in the federal laws is a must. A CD program provides two levels of training—a module for staff and a module for managers. It’s available at $135 for ADA members and $202.50 for nonmembers.
- OSHA Training for Dental Professionals (P889). A one-hour DVD provides training on keeping dental office personnel safe according to OSHA regulations. The kit also includes a 69-page workbook with updated requirements for evaluating needle devices. It’s available at $135 for ADA members and $202.50 for nonmembers. Dentists and staff can earn eight continuing education hours.
