ADA to launch hybrid meeting with special member perks

Las Vegas—ADA members who are unable to attend the 152nd Annual Session in person will now be able to log on to access the new ADA365 online hybrid meeting for free access to a variety of events, programs and activities.

“The ADA Annual Session is such an awesome experience that we want to share as much of the event as possible with all of the profession,” said Dr. Kevin Laing, chair, Council on ADA Sessions. “Unfortunately not everyone is able to be with us in Las Vegas, so we are reaching out to them in their homes and offices with live feeds from Las Vegas.”

The virtual hybrid meeting will go live starting with the Opening General Session on Monday morning, Oct. 10—including a live stream of the Distinguished Speaker Series presentation by Condoleezza Rice, Ph.D., former U.S. Secretary of State. While the Opening General Session will be accessible by all virtual meeting attendees, Dr. Rice’s presentation will only be available live for ADA members, from approximately 8:30-9:30 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time. It will not be recorded for future viewing.

To log on to the members-only area of the ADA365 virtual meeting, ADA members must use their ADA member number plus a special password that the ADA will distribute via e-mail later this month. Members must also have a unique email address on file with the ADA to access the members-only content.

ADA members will also have exclusive, free access to Education in the Round courses and will be able to interact with the speakers in real time via the website. (See ada.org/session for a schedule of EIR course descriptions, dates and times.) Other members-only content will include the Open Clinical and Science Forums, Safety and Effectiveness of Dental Restorations, Oct. 11, noon-1:30 p.m. PDT and TMD Facts and Opinions, Oct. 12, noon-1:30 p.m. PDT.

“The Council on ADA Sessions is confident that those who experience our hybrid virtual meeting will want to plan on being on-site at a future ADA Annual Session,” said Dr. Laing. “The council’s goal is to give all attendees a great experience, whether it be in person or online.”

Portions of the virtual meeting will also be open to nonmember dentists, dental team members, exhibitors and others. All viewers can access programs such as Going For the Gold! Learn to Function Like a Champion Olympic Team (course 5304), presented by Terry Schroeder, Olympic water polo coach; the opening remarks from the Opening General Session; and other elements such as video from the ADA’s LOC on the exhibit floor; video from the Adult Preventive Care Practice of the Year Competition and more.

Member dentists who want to log on for members-only content must have a unique email address on file with the ADA. To add or update email address information, members log on to ada.org/memberprofile and click on the “Update Personal Information” link or contact the ADA Member Service Center Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Central Standard Time using the toll-free number on their member card.

ADA365 hybrid meeting attendees will be able to log in to the site in the days before launch beginning the week of Oct. 5, in order to become familiar with the site before the live broadcasts begin Monday morning. Visit ada.org/session starting Oct. 3 for more information on how to attend the virtual Annual Session.
