Dr. Wong heads Army dental corps
San Antonio—Dr. M. Ted Wong, an ADA member promoted to major general at a July 15, 2010, ceremony, now serves as the 26th chief of the U.S. Army Dental Corps and additionally as deputy commanding general for readiness, Western Regional Medical Command, and commanding general, William Beaumont Army Medical Center.
He recently completed a two-year assignment as commander of the Army Dental Command (DENCOM) with operational responsibility for 145 Army dental clinics world-wide maintaining the oral health and dental readiness of soldiers and other beneficiaries. Dr. Wong previously was assigned as senior Army dental corps staff officer on the Army surgeon general’s staff and then as commander of the North Atlantic Regional Dental Command.
"MG Wong is extremely proud to serve as the senior Army delegate to the ADA House of Delegates and he looks forward to building upon the already strong, established bonds between the Army dentistry community and the American Dental Association," the announcement said.
