Be an ADA CERP Provider Does your internationally based dental organization, company
or agency offer continuing education (CE)? Are you interested
in attracting U.S. and Canadian dentists and allied dental
professionals traveling and living abroad to your CE programs?
If so, then your organization may want to consider applying
for recognition by the American
Dental Association Continuing Education Recognition Program
(ADA CERP). Dentists and allied
dental professionals often seek CE courses from ADA CERP
recognized providers to fulfill their CE requirements for
re-licensure since most state and provincial licensing boards
will generally accept CE credits issued by ADA CERP recognized
providers. In the spring of 2003, the FDI World Dental Federation
became the first internationally based CE provider to be
granted ADA CERP recognition.
The ADA CERP was inaugurated in 1993 in order to establish
standards to promote the continuous improvement of CDE and
offer its members and the dental community a way to select
CDE with confidence. Through an application and review process,
the ADA CERP evaluates and recognizes institutions and organizations
that offer a planned program of CDE. To be granted recognition,
applicants must demonstrate eligibility to apply and compliance
with the 15 standards of the program. The application and
all supporting documentation must be submitted in English.
Continued recognition is contingent on continued compliance
and on re-application at the established intervals.
For more information about the ADA CERP recognition standards,
eligibility requirements, application for
ADA CERP recognition, and fees, and to review

and other information about the ADA CERP,
