ADA Foundation: Program Areas: Charitable Assistance
The ADA Foundation connects people with the help they need in times of emergency. Foundation response in the form of relief grants, disaster response grants, resources and volunteer networks provides assistance for victims of natural and man-made disasters. Foundation assistance has changed the lives of many dentists and their families by providing food, temporary shelter, medical and dental care, and other resources and equipment tohelp rebuild homes and dental practices.

"The ADA Foundation connected homeless families with housing opportunities and supplied dental vans for emergency treatment. They worked with us to collect and distribute donated equipment to rebuild dental offices... They changed my life by showing me the true value of being connected to a community."

Repairing the World When Change is Unwelcome

Every disaster may not have the impact of hurricanes Katrina and Rita. But every disaster has a huge impact on its victims—no matter where or when it occurs. When an area is authorized to receive federal disaster funds, the ADA Foundation springs into action to contact people in the affected areas and inform them of emergency assistance grants that are available from the Foundation.

In the past year, the Foundation has provided assistance to people in many states including Washington, Illinois, New York, Florida, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Missouri and Oklahoma. The Foundation works closely with local and state dental organizations to maximize and optimize resources, coordinate the flow of information and quickly provide relief to dentists and their families who need help.
