CHICAGO, Feb. 28, 2013 —The ADA Center for Evidence-Based Dentistry is accepting applications for the 2013 Evidence-Based Dentistry Champions Conference scheduled for April 25-27 at ADA Headquarters, 211 E. Chicago Ave., in Chicago. Only 100 dentists will be chosen through a competitive selection process to participate in the program. Dentists are encouraged to apply by March 10.

The goal of the EBD Champions Conference is to recruit and train selected dental professionals throughout the United States to learn what Evidence-Based Dentistry (EBD) is, how to apply EBD principles and tools in clinical decision-making and how to spread the word about EBD to their colleagues.

EBD focuses on providing personalized dental care based on the most current scientific knowledge. EBD integrates scientific evidence, the patient's oral and medical condition, history and treatment preferences, and the dentist's clinical judgment.

To participate in the 2013 Evidence-Based Dentistry Champions Conference, a dentist must live and practice in the United States and be directly involved in treating dental patients. Registration for chosen applicants is $150 for ADA members and $225 for nonmembers. Champions will earn 11 to 14 hours of continuing education credit. For more information and to apply, visit www.ada.org/ebdconference.
