Illinois Dentist Installed as American Dental Association Trustee
CHICAGO, Oct. 13, 2010—Joseph F. Hagenbruch, D.M.D., a private-practice general dentist in Harvard, Ill., was installed today as a trustee of the American Dental Association (ADA). Dr. Hagenbruch’s installation took place in Orlando, Fla., during the ADA's 151st Annual Session.
Dr. Hagenbruch will serve on the ADA Board as the trustee from the Eighth District (Illinois). The ADA Board formulates and reviews policies and programs and makes recommendations to the members of the ADA's governing body, the House of Delegates. As a member of the Board, Dr. Hagenbruch will play a major role in the ADA's organizational objective of being America’s leading advocate for oral health.
Dr. Hagenbruch is a past president of the Illinois State Dental Society. He has served as a delegate to the ADA House of Delegates 14 times and as an alternate three additional times. In the House, he has served on the Reference Committee on Dental Benefits, Practice and Health and was chairperson of the Committee on Credentials, Rules and Order at the 2006 ADA Annual Session.
A member of the ADA’s Council on Dental Benefits Programs from 2005 to 2009, Dr. Hagenbruch served as council chairman in 2009. He is a fellow in the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists and the Academy of General Dentistry. He maintains affiliations with various other dental-related organizations, both nationally and internationally.
A graduate of Illinois State University in 1971, Dr. Hagenbruch received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Washington University School of Dental Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dr. Hagenbruch maintains his dental practice in Harvard, Ill., where he and his family also reside.
